Kevin Harvick tells a funny story about his wife participating in a race.
After retiring from full-time racing in 2023, Kevin Harvick became a full-time broadcaster. In addition to his role as a race analyst for Fox during races, he also hosts his own podcast called The Happy Hours. Since the start of the season, he has featured various guests on his show, and recently, his former crew chief was a guest.
During the podcast episode, Kevin Harvick shared a hilarious story about how he and his former crew chief helped his wife prepare for her debut in a Late Model race. DeLana had been promised the opportunity to race in a Late Model race by her father after graduating, and as soon as she completed all the necessary requirements, Berrier and Harvick had to prepare a car for her. Unfortunately, her race did not go well, as she spun out multiple times due to car issues and her own mistakes.
Todd Berrier and @KevinHarvick not only worked together, but also helped @DelanaHarvick with her first race car. Watch a new episode of #KevinHarvicksHappyHour here ➡️ [link to the podcast episode]
After seeing a clip of the podcast on X, DeLana Harvick quickly responded and pointed out that the car she had for the 100-lap race in Kenly did not have power steering.
Ummmmmm you forgot to mention that I didn’t have power steering 🙃 [tweet link]
In the same podcast episode, while discussing the early years of his career, Kevin Harvick revealed that when he started at RCR, he had to rely on DeLana Harvick’s credit card. This was because he had to mortgage his house and buy his contract with Liberty Racing. This situation persisted until the opening of the season in Dayton, where he received his first paycheck.
The fun interactions and touching stories highlighted in the podcast showcase the strong bond and love between the couple. They embarked on their journey together and hope to continue for as long as possible.
