The Land Rover Defender family is set to grow with the arrival of a new performance variant, Octa, which promises to be more rugged, more luxurious, and the most powerful in the lineup.
The new Octa, named after the octahedral shape of a rare and highly prized diamond, will be unveiled on July 3rd.
Prior to the global debut, potential customers can participate in the “Defender Elements” sensory preview events and choose the customized configuration of their off-road vehicle. These exclusive and private events will take place in the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, United States, Dubai, and Japan.
Although Land Rover has not revealed technical details of this new Defender Octa, it is already known that it will be equipped with a V8 twin-turbo gasoline engine with Mild Hybrid technology, and with a 6D Dynamics pneumatic suspension, for extreme performance on all types of terrain.
While the global presentation of the new Octa has not yet arrived, the British brand is subjecting the new SUV to tests, in a development process that the British brand says is the most comprehensive in the history of the Defender, in environments ranging from the ice and snow of Sweden to the desert of Dubai, the asphalt of Nürburgring, and the rocky roads of Moab, USA.
