The JLR Motorsport division, under the leadership of Managing Director James Barclay, is already deep into development for their 2026 debut. The Defender Dakar vehicle will be designed to compete in the event’s T1+ category, a class that showcases cutting-edge off-road racing technology.

While the competitive debut is still two years away, JLR will introduce the Defender to the rally in January 2025 as the official car supplier.
