De Tomaso concluiu o primeiro P72 com especificações de produção

De Tomaso is back and has been developing the P72 supercar since 2019. They have now announced that they have completed the first unit of the new model, with production specifications.

It should be noted that De Tomaso was supposed to begin delivering the P72 in 2022, but ended up delaying production, claiming that more development of the supercar was necessary after revealing the model in 2019, the year the Italian brand celebrated its 60th anniversary.

Over the past two years, the P72 has undergone some significant changes in terms of chassis and internal suspension. Additionally, a new design was developed in partnership with HWA, a German motorsport and engineering company with ties to Mercedes-Benz, which allowed for improvements in safety and ergonomics for the P72.

As a result, De Tomaso has confirmed that the new design has given the P72 a significantly lower center of gravity, along with more head and legroom, greater safety in the event of a collision, and reduced mass.

The P72’s aesthetics remain untouchable, thanks in part to extensive wind tunnel testing. To maintain the original look, most of the aerodynamic work focuses on the lower part of the supercar. Additionally, the Italian brand has kept the 5.0-liter V8 engine, which delivers 750 hp of power.

With the completion of production specifications, De Tomaso is ready to take the model with the chassis number ending in 001 for final dynamic testing, before starting the limited production of the supercar, which is expected to begin in 2025.

It is already known that De Tomaso will produce only 72 units of the P72, with a price expected to be around €1.6 million per unit.
