The Daytona 500 is once again living up to its reputation as the pinnacle of NASCAR’s season, with the 67th running of the Great American Race officially sold out for the 10th consecutive year. As the engines roar to life on February 16, a packed Daytona International Speedway will witness racing history unfold in what promises to be another electrifying season opener.

A Decade of Sellouts: NASCAR’s Unrivaled Spectacle

Daytona International Speedway President Frank Kelleher reflected on the milestone, highlighting the event’s unmatched appeal.

“The Daytona 500 continues to be a spectacle of elite racing and entertainment,” Kelleher said. “The consecutive sellouts prove this event is one of a kind. From the moment Speedweeks begins, the atmosphere is electric, and every team is eager to start the season.”

While general admission tickets are no longer available, limited premium upgrades and packages remain for fans eager to experience the magic of Daytona firsthand.

William Byron: Can He Go Back-to-Back?

Last year’s Daytona 500 delivered a heart-stopping finish, with William Byron edging out teammate Alex Bowman in a side-by-side showdown that required a video review to determine the winner. Byron’s triumph marked Hendrick Motorsports’ continued dominance at Daytona, as the team secured a stunning one-two finish.

Byron now sets his sights on history, aiming to become the first driver since Denny Hamlin (2019, 2020) to win back-to-back Daytona 500 titles. With Hendrick Motorsports’ powerhouse lineup and momentum from last year, Byron’s quest for consecutive victories will be a storyline to watch.

The Road to the Green Flag

Daytona’s action-packed week kicks off on February 12 with practice and qualifying sessions, as drivers vie for the coveted pole position. The field will be finalized on February 13 following the always-dramatic Duel races, setting the stage for Sunday’s main event. The green flag drops on February 16, marking the start of another thrilling NASCAR season.

Looking Ahead: Daytona’s Future

In addition to celebrating this year’s sellout, Daytona International Speedway has also confirmed the date for the 2026 Daytona 500: February 15. The announcement underscores the enduring appeal of NASCAR’s crown jewel and its place as a cornerstone of the motorsports calendar.
