Daniel Ricciardo descreve o Grande Prêmio da Espanha como “extremamente incomum” para a Red Bull após recuar apesar das novas melhorias.

Daniel Ricciardo expressed his disappointment with RB’s below expected performance in Barcelona. The team’s race results were far from satisfactory, with both drivers finishing in 15th and 19th positions. Ricciardo acknowledged that the drop in his performance was unexpected and described the weekend as peculiar.

During qualifying, Ricciardo and his teammate felt confident in their performance and did not encounter significant issues with the car’s handling. However, they were surprised by the significant drop in their performance during the race. Ricciardo couldn’t find a reason for the sudden decrease in the car’s speed.

Ricciardo believed that they didn’t fully utilize the new improvements introduced to the car. Although he was satisfied with his own performance, finishing 15th was not a result he could be content with. He emphasized the need for the team to improve in order to achieve better results.

Yuki Tsunoda admitted that there were problems at the start of the race, which affected his performance in the second stint. Although the team resolved the steering issue, Tsunoda still felt uncomfortable while driving and doubted if the problem was completely resolved.

Furthermore, Tsunoda highlighted the overall lack of speed of the car and the difficulties he faced in finding the right balance. He described the car as misaligned and uncontrollable, indicating that something was wrong. In the qualifying session, the car’s balance was decent, but Tsunoda experienced excessive sliding and lack of downforce.

Both Yuki Tsunoda and Daniel Ricciardo had high expectations after their strong qualifying sessions, hoping for better results on race day. Unfortunately, things didn’t go as planned and they were disappointed with their 15th and 19th place finishes.
