Daniel Ricciardo confiante de que pode melhorar para garantir futuro na F1

Daniel Ricciardo had a disappointing start to the 2024 F1 season, as his teammate Yuki Tsunoda outperformed him in the first two races. Ricciardo, who made a surprising return to AlphaTauri (now VisaCashAppRB) in the middle of 2023, struggled at the beginning of the 2024 season compared to his younger teammate. There are concerns about Ricciardo’s future if he does not improve, and the Red Bull Motorsport Consultant encouraged the 34-year-old driver to do better. In response to these comments, Ricciardo addressed the situation.

When asked about the comments made by the Red Bull Motorsport Consultant, Ricciardo stated that he did not care about them. He emphasized the importance of interacting with the media in Formula 1 and clarified that speaking to the media is part of the sport. Ricciardo explained that he returned to Formula 1 because he believes he can regain his position at the front of the grid. He firmly believes he belongs among the elite in motorsport.

During his comeback, Ricciardo faced questions about his motivations. Some wondered if he was trying to prove himself or if he was just trying to please others with his return. However, Ricciardo made it clear that he came back to the sport for himself. He is determined to achieve results in Formula 1 and is confident he can still deliver.

After a disappointing spell with McLaren in 2021 and 2022, Ricciardo decided to leave the team a year before his contract ended. He then returned to Red Bull as a third driver for 2023. However, after an impressive test at Silverstone with the RB-19, Ricciardo had the opportunity to replace Nyck de Vries in the AlphaTauri seat.

It is clear that Ricciardo’s goal is to secure the Red Bull seat alongside in 2025. The team in Milton Keynes mentioned that Ricciardo is one of the candidates for Sergio Perez’s seat. Ricciardo acknowledges the expectations placed on him for his 2024 campaign and is determined to make people proud during his return.

Undoubtedly, Ricciardo will need to improve his performance in the upcoming races. He will be seeking a respectable result in his home race in Melbourne this weekend. However, it remains to be seen if he will be able to meet the expectations set for him this year.
