Danica Patrick took to Instagram to express her emotions regarding George Russell’s unexpected disqualification from the Belgian GP. The Briton’s car was discovered to be underweight after his victory, a fact that left Russell unaware as he celebrated his win. Unfortunately, the officials decided to disqualify him from the race, ultimately awarding the win to another driver who had secured second place. Various individuals shared their opinions on the incident, including former NASCAR driver Danica Patrick.

Danica Patrick, a familiar face in the F1 paddock, utilized social media to convey her feelings about George Russell’s disqualification. She expressed her heartbreak over the news, sympathizing with Russell and describing the situation as incredibly unfortunate. Patrick believed that it was a sad turn of events for Russell, who had performed exceptionally well and demonstrated impressive speed.

Patrick shared the official F1 post on her story, accompanied by her message and a heartbreak emoji. This incident undoubtedly saddened any race driver who witnessed it. Despite Russell’s exceptional driving, unforeseen circumstances can arise, which can be extremely demotivating for a driver who puts their heart and soul into racing. Experiencing something like this is truly devastating for any driver.

In an interview, Mercedes’ Andrew Shovlin acknowledged the difficulty of Russell’s disqualification after such a stellar performance. Shovlin believed that Russell was the top driver on the track, showcasing his skills by defending his position with worn tires. However, the unexpected incident was simply a stroke of bad luck for Russell at that particular moment.

Shovlin praised Russell for his excellent tire management and his ability to defend his position until the end of the race. However, he also mentioned that the team was perplexed as to how the car was found to be underweight after the race. Mercedes vowed to thoroughly investigate the matter in order to determine the cause. They remained hopeful that further examination would shed light on what went wrong.

Undoubtedly, Andrew Shovlin emphasized the importance of conducting a thorough analysis and investigation before the summer break. This investigation is crucial not only for understanding the situation but also for making improvements to avoid similar mistakes in the future. Fans were devastated to witness George Russell’s victory being snatched away by race control.
