Dale Earnhardt Jr. shared his opinion on the ongoing debate about power in NASCAR. Since the introduction of the Next-Gen cars in the 2022 season, NASCAR has faced challenges in producing exciting races on short tracks. Despite several attempts to solve the issue, including the recent aerodynamic package used in Phoenix, none have been particularly successful. As a result, drivers have been calling for an increase in power from 650 to 670, or even more. Dale Earnhardt Jr., a NASCAR Hall of Famer, discussed these demands on his podcast. While he supports the idea of increasing power, he is not sure if it would actually improve the quality of races as some drivers claim.

Despite his reservations, Dale Jr. believes that NASCAR should prioritize listening to the drivers, who are the ones behind the wheel. He wants to see his friends’ demands for increased power taken seriously. However, he also acknowledges that there may be undisclosed reasons why NASCAR has hesitated to meet the drivers’ demands.

Looking ahead, it will be interesting to see how NASCAR addresses the power debate in the upcoming seasons. The issue of lackluster races on short tracks requires an immediate solution. Perhaps the best approach is for NASCAR to actively engage with the drivers and consider their opinions, especially since previous attempts to solve the problem have not been successful.
