Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Budweiser Reunite for Iconic ‘Bud King of Beers’ Paint Scheme Comeback

In a thrilling revival, NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt Jr. is set to reunite with Budweiser and his famed No. 8 in the iconic “Bud King of Beers” livery. This nostalgic paint scheme will hit the track once again for a series of Late Model Stock Car races, kicking off at the South Carolina 400 at Florence Motor Speedway on November 23.

The red-and-black Budweiser livery, synonymous with Earnhardt Jr.’s career from 1999 to 2007, hasn’t graced the track in 17 years. Earnhardt Jr., now a Hall of Famer, will be piloting a No. 8 JR Motorsports Chevrolet, bringing back memories of his original tenure with Budweiser that solidified his status as a fan favorite.

“It’s an incredible opportunity for me to be able to reunite with Budweiser and the No. 8,” Earnhardt Jr. said. “Budweiser and I had some great memories with that iconic scheme and number. We’ve always supported each other over the years, and it’s going to be really special to represent that brand on the racetrack again.”

This partnership celebrates Anheuser-Busch’s longstanding support of NASCAR, which spans more than four decades and includes partnerships through Budweiser, Busch, and Busch Light brands. Matt Davis, Vice President of Partnerships at Anheuser-Busch, emphasized the symbolic return, saying, “There are names that, when mentioned, draw on the significance of their place in American history. Among them, Budweiser and Earnhardt. This return to the racetrack is another chapter in Anheuser-Busch’s long and storied sports history.”

The return of this legendary paint scheme will give fans a dose of racing nostalgia and an opportunity to see one of the sport’s most iconic partnerships back in action. Earnhardt Jr. will continue to represent Budweiser in select races into 2025, rekindling a bond between brand and driver that shaped an era in NASCAR.
