Dale Earnhardt Jr. asked William Byron to take responsibility for the crash at Darlington. Last week’s NASCAR Cup Series weekend at Darlington was eventful, with several intense moments between drivers on and off the track. One of the standout moments was the collision between William Byron of Hendrick Motorsports and Ryan Blaney of Team Penske Racing, who is also the defending champion.
During the race’s second stage, Ryan Blaney found himself in a three-way battle for position with William Byron. Unfortunately, Byron made a bad move entering the turn, causing Blaney to hit the wall and damage his car, resulting in his exit from the race. Blaney was understandably furious and expressed his frustration over the team radio.
NASCAR Hall of Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr., discussing the incident, emphasized that the blame falls mainly on the HMS driver and stated that Blaney has every right to be angry. He encouraged Byron, who drives for Chevy, to redeem himself for the mistake in the future.
Despite all the chaos in the Goodyear 400, Brad Keselowski of RFK Racing emerged as the winner, securing his first victory with the team and ending his 110-race winless streak. Dale Jr., reflecting on the emotional moment Keselowski shared with his daughters after the race, acknowledged that he understands the emotions the driver of the No. 6 Ford must be feeling.
It seems that Dale Jr. also wants to experience a similar moment with his own daughters. Unfortunately, his daughters have not had the opportunity to see him win races in NASCAR. However, he still has the chance to achieve this feat, whether in the CARS Tour or during one of his appearances in the Xfinity Series with JRM.
