The official presentation of Dakar 2024 took place this Monday, with the unveiling of the complete route. The opening round of the World Rally-Raid Championship (W2RC) season will take place from January 5th to January 19th in Saudi Arabia.
AlUla will host the prologue on January 5th, with only 27km of competition. The first stage starts in AlUla and ends in Al Henakiyah one day later. The initial week concludes with a stage divided into two on January 11th and 12th, starting and finishing in Shubaytah. There is no assistance in the Empty Quarter, with a total of 584km of timed sections.
January 13th is the rest day, on the eve of the longest day: the seventh stage, on January 14th, offers 483km against the clock and 873km in total distance. The 12th and final stage is on January 19th, with the last 175km timed before the crowning. The itinerary will have 4,727km of special stages and a total of 7,891km.
