The legion of fans of the Dacia Duster now has another reason to celebrate the latest creation, the result of a partnership with the Romanian tuner, Romturingia, known for transforming previous generations of the Duster into pick-ups.
This time, the Romanian company went further and maintained a double cab configuration from the Duster pick-up, while reducing the cargo space, transforming the well-known SUV into a compact pick-up.
The most significant change was recorded at the rear section. The roof was cut after the ‘D’ pillars, leaving the rest of the bodywork intact. The exposed cargo area is lined with plastic finishing along the floor and sides, and features a custom tailgate that opens downwards. Additionally, there is a new partition with a flat rear window that separates the passengers from the cargo area.
The cargo space has a maximum length of 1.05 meters, a width of 1 meter, and a payload capacity of 430 kg. To keep the cargo secure, there are also two metal rails and four hooks.
Inside, there is space for four occupants, with rear passengers enjoying a center armrest. As for dimensions, nothing has changed compared to the conventional Duster, with the pick-up measuring 4.34 meters in length, 1.81 m in width, and 1.65 m in height. Meanwhile, the ground clearance is 224 mm.
This Duster pick-up, bearing the signature of Romturingia, falls into the N1 category of light commercial vehicles and is available in the Expression, Extreme, and Journey versions, thus maintaining the equipment level of the SUV, with two levels of hybrid engine options. The “mild hybrid” version has 130 hp with all-wheel drive, as well as the “full-hybrid” variant with 140 hp and front-wheel drive.
It is uncertain whether this Dacia Duster pick-up will reach global markets, and therefore, to acquire one of these models, a visit to Romania will be necessary, where the model is available starting at €25,983 excluding VAT.
