D’Ambrosio ready to switch from Mercedes to Ferrari like Hamilton

Jerome d’Ambrosio, the Director of Driver Development at Mercedes AMG F1, is set to leave his position and join Ferrari in Formula 1. D’Ambrosio, who has previously raced for Marussia and Lotus, also served as Team Principal at Venturi Racing in Formula E. He joined Mercedes last year and was responsible for identifying and nurturing young talents. While there were rumors that he could succeed Toto Wolff as head of Mercedes, sources have confirmed that he will make the move to Ferrari once his contract with Mercedes expires. D’Ambrosio’s decision is motivated by his desire to return to the continental Europe, and he is expected to work alongside Jock Clear in managing Ferrari’s Driver Academy. This move is a setback for Wolff, who had hinted at a bigger role for D’Ambrosio in the future. However, for now, D’Ambrosio’s focus remains on his current responsibilities within Mercedes.
