Automotive fans are familiar with Cyan Racing for the titles they have won with Volvo and Lynk & Co in the World Touring Car Championship (WTCR). However, the Swedish brand has surprised in recent years with its transformations of the well-known P1800, a legendary Volvo model that was in production between 1961 and 1973.
Now Cyan Racing has revealed a GT version of the well-known model that features improved performance and a customized interior. Among the changes made, highlights include the use of adjustable suspension to provide greater comfort, especially on winding roads.
In the interior, this special GT features cream-colored fabric and leather upholstery, with comfortable seats, along with improved soundproofing of the cabin and a new “roll-cage” with greater rigidity.
Under the hood, this P1800 GT uses the same 2.0-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine as the version revealed in 2020 by Cyan Racing, with two power levels, 350 hp or 420 hp, coupled with a five-speed manual gearbox from Holinger specifically developed for this model and which transmits power to the rear wheels.
Cyan Racing did not reveal the price of this P1800 GT, but stated that customization, design, and production take between 12 and 15 months, and that a large part of the process is developed in conjunction with the client, as is the case with the unit in the photographs, intended for a customer from the USA, which features a bright green body paint.
