A Ducati Monster 600 from 1998 was transformed by Black Cycles into a stunning custom bike. They made significant modifications, keeping only the trellis frame, suspension, and brakes. The engine was completely swapped out for a larger L-twin powerplant from a Monster 900. Structural changes were made to accommodate a Redmax body kit provided by the customer.
The Redmax package included a cafe racer tail unit and a retro-style fuel tank. These two components were seamlessly integrated to create a sleek and level bone line from front to back. The gas tank features a stylish Monza filler cap and a leather strap for added flair. Carman’s Auto Trimmers crafted a custom black leather seat to complete the look.
In terms of design, the bike features a slim mudguard at the front to protect against road debris. The rear end showcases a bespoke tail tidy with integrated LEDs, serving as both taillights and turn signals. The front end boasts a seven-inch LED headlight mounted on custom brackets. It is positioned in front of a digital Motogadget Motoscope Mini dial, creating a modern and stylish cockpit.
The handlebars have been replaced with clip-ons and adorned with aftermarket rubber grips. Glassless bar-end mirrors and Motogadget switchgear add to the overall aesthetic. The footwear department showcases five-spoke Marchesini wheels borrowed from another Monster model. These wheels are fitted with Pirelli’s grippy Angel GT rubber. The brakes have also been upgraded with braided lines from HEL and top-shelf master cylinders.
The engine swap involved a complete revamp of the powerplant. A handmade stainless-steel exhaust was crafted from scratch to enhance performance and add a unique touch. To complete the transformation, the bike was given a striking black and gold livery by Justin Holmes of PopBang Classics. The bodywork was painted in ravishing black, while the frame and wheels were finished in gold, creating a visually stunning contrast.
