Cupra continues to grow and announced that it recorded a record 167,600 vehicles sold in the first half of 2025, thus approaching a total of 1 million sales.
The data now announced shows that Cupra achieved its best first half ever, and between January and June 2025, the brand recorded a 33.4% increase in sales compared to the same period last year. Since its launch in 2018, Cupra has already delivered more than 900,000 vehicles worldwide.
The achievement of Cupra is even greater when considering that Seat sold 135,000 vehicles in the first six months of the year, which represents a decline of 21.4% compared to the same period last year.
Considering the results of both brands, Seat SA delivered a total of 302,600 vehicles between January and June, an increase of 1.7% compared to 2024, with 100% electric models accounting for the largest number of cars sold.
The Cupra Formentor remained the company’s best-selling model during the first six months of 2025, with 54,700 units delivered. Deliveries of electrified vehicles (plug-in hybrids and 100% electric) increased by 76.1%, with fully electric models growing by 105.3% compared to the same period last year, driven by strong demand for the Cupra Born and the Tavascan, reinforcing the company’s accelerated electrification strategy.
Despite the pressures imposed by changes in the sales mix; EU tariffs on the Cupra Tavascan, manufactured in China; product costs; and the growth of competition in key markets, Seat SA’s financial results showed an improvement in the second quarter of 2025 compared to the first. Operating profit increased from €5 million in the first quarter to €38 million in the second quarter, a rise of €33 million, signaling a positive moment and a more promising outlook for the second half of the year.
“The improvement in the second quarter results shows that we are on the right track and we are confident in our ability to sustain this positive trajectory.,” said Patrik Andreas Mayer, Executive Vice President of Finance and IT at Seat SA, in a statement.
