Cupra celebra mais um aniversário em Portugal com um crescimento de 55% das vendas em 2023

Cupra is celebrating six years of existence, four of which with a presence in Portugal, where the brand has been winning over the Portuguese with its models.

In 2023, Cupra sold over 2500 vehicles, representing a 55% increase compared to the year 2022, reflecting the trust and recognition of Portuguese consumers in the quality and distinctive style of the brand’s vehicles.

A tangible proof of this factor is the sales in Portugal, as 58% of the best-selling models in the national market in 2023 are electrified vehicles, and 26% are plug-in hybrid vehicles. Among the models, the highlight is the Formentor, accounting for 55% of sales, followed by the Born, a 100% electric model, with 32% of sales.

The growth of Cupra is also reflected in the 13 points of sale – Cupra Garages – from north to south of the country, 3 of which were inaugurated in 2023.

Among the various points of sale of the brand, Cupra City Garage Lisbon stands out, which is celebrating its second year and is much more than a place where business is conducted. It is a multifaceted space that has already established itself as such and is part of the cultural agenda of the city of Lisbon.

“We are extremely pleased with the growth that Cupra achieved in 2023, the result of the commitment of our team and the dealer network, as well as the trust and loyalty of our customers, who drive us daily. In addition, we are committed to ensuring the profitability of the brand and its dealer network, making each step taken contribute not only to present success, but also to future stability and growth. The planned innovations for this year are the foundation for achieving this goal.”, said Mónica Camacho, General Director of Cupra, at a meeting with journalists at Cupra City Garage Lisbon.

By 2024, the brand intends to reinforce the good results achieved in 2023 and for that, the product offensive will increase with new releases, among which the arrival of the new Tavascan stands out, the brand’s second 100% electric model, which will arrive in September, as well as the Terramar SUV destined for the B segment, which is expected to be the last model of the brand to be equipped with combustion engines, since Cupra aims to be 100% electric by 2030.

In addition, in 2024, the Born VZ will also arrive in the national market, the more muscular variant of Cupra’s first electric car. “These releases promise even more exciting driving experiences, while offering electrified mobility options that meet the needs and trends of the current market,” added Mónica Camacho.
