Second consecutive victory for Gert Huzink in Dakar 2024. The driver of the Jongbloed Dakar Team’s hybrid Renault once again set the pace in the tenth stage, held this Wednesday.
It was a fierce battle for victory, in which the Dutchman came out on top against rally leader Martin Macik (MM Technology Team/Iveco) by just 1m08s. In third place was the surprising Michiel Becx (Becx Competition Team de Rooy FPT/Iveco) already nine minutes behind, followed by Ales Loprais (Instaforex Loprais Praga) and Pascal de Baar (Tatra Muggyra ZM Racing).
The times of this stage allowed Macik to solidify his overall lead, already having a 2h06m08s (!) advantage over Loprais. Mitchel van den Brink (Eurol Rallysport/Iveco) fell behind but retains third place, with Janus van Kasteren (Boss Machinery Team de Rooy FPT/Iveco) in fourth and Vick Versteijnen (Versteijnen Truck Racing/Iveco) in fifth. Huzink remains in 12th with his second consecutive daily triumph.
