Colton Herta Takes Bold Leap: Joins Cadillac for Thrilling IMSA Endurance Battles!

Colton Herta’s Racing Ambitions Ignite: A Bold Leap into IMSA Endurance with Cadillac!

In a dramatic twist for motorsport enthusiasts, Colton Herta is not just chasing his Formula 1 dreams—he’s blazing a trail through multiple racing arenas in 2026! The IndyCar star has made a game-changing move, trading his familiar ground for the thrilling battleground of Formula 2, all while securing a coveted spot with Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing for the endurance rounds of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

Herta’s transition to F2 marks a pivotal chapter in his career as he sets his sights on Formula 1, where Cadillac is gearing up to make its highly anticipated debut in 2026. The powerhouse team has already locked in their formidable driver duo—stalwarts Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Perez—who will spearhead Cadillac’s F1 ambitions. Meanwhile, Herta is stepping into a multifaceted role as both a test driver and an emerging talent in the racing community, leaving behind his tenure with Andretti Autosport in IndyCar.

This bold career pivot comes with Herta’s commitment to compete in the prestigious 2026 F2 season, recognized universally as the premier stepping stone to F1 glory. However, that’s not all! Herta has also confirmed his participation in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, where he will join forces with WTR’s elite Cadillac Racing squad. The stakes are sky-high as he prepares for the grueling endurance races, including the legendary 24 Hours of Daytona, the Twelve Hours of Sebring, and the Petit Le Mans.

Fans will be thrilled to see Herta reunite with the dynamic duo of Jordan Taylor and Louis Delétraz, with whom he clinched victory at Sebring in 2024. Expressing his excitement, Herta stated, “Super excited to join Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing for the endurance rounds this year. We had some success last time I was with the team and I hope to continue that. Jordan and Louis are some of the best drivers in the business, and it’s a pleasure to join them on this adventure. I can’t wait to get behind the wheel of the Cadillac’s naturally aspirated engine. Daytona can’t come soon enough!”

As the racing world watches closely, Herta’s schedule is packed! He will juggle his responsibilities across Cadillac’s F1 initiatives and his Hitech TGR Formula 2 campaign. Currently, Hitech’s rising star, Luke Browning, is making waves in the F2 championship, sitting third in the standings with only two rounds left, while Herta aims to make his mark both on the track and in the hearts of fans.

This exhilarating chapter in Colton Herta’s career showcases not only his ambition but also the electrifying future of racing as Cadillac prepares to disrupt the status quo in Formula 1. Buckle up, because the thrill of racing is about to reach new heights with Herta at the wheel!
