Co-criador da Racing Pride inicia aventura de GT com a Aston Martin.

Racing Pride co-founder Richard Morris announced on Tuesday that he will be participating in a GT4 testing program, further solidifying his connection with the well-known Aston Martin brand. Racing Pride is known for its advocacy for LGBTQ+ inclusion in motorsport. While much of Racing Pride’s work takes place off the track, Morris is no stranger to on-track activities.

Having transitioned from Karting to Formula Ford single-seaters, Morris moved to prototype racing in 2019. In 2023, he achieved notable success, being crowned Champion of the European Sports Prototype Cup, Winner of the UK-Europe Trophy by BRM Chronographes, and Overall Winner of the Dutch Supercar Challenge Dunes Trophy. Throughout the season, he secured an impressive seven wins and nine podiums in 11 races.

Now, Morris is shifting his focus from prototypes to GTs. He has already started a testing program for 2024 with Aston Martin partner Forsetti Motorsport, using a Vantage GT4. His first outing in this new venture will take place at Snetterton on May 10th.

Morris expressed his enthusiasm for GT racing, highlighting the numerous opportunities it presents. He acknowledges the growing grids and wide fan base of fantastic series featuring iconic brands in motorsport, not only in the UK but worldwide. By familiarizing himself with GT cars, Morris aims to position himself for future racing opportunities. While he has proven his ability to compete at the forefront of prototype racing, expanding his skills to include GT cars will open up a world of new possibilities for his career. He recognizes that securing adequate support and sponsorship will be crucial in building a racing program, but his focus remains on gaining experience and being prepared to seize opportunities.

Morris wisely chose to partner with Forsetti Motorsport as he pursues his future in GT motorsport. Currently leading the GT4 Silver standings in the British GT championship, Forsetti Motorsport boasts drivers Mikey Porter and Jamie Day. Joe Holloway, team director of Forsetti Motorsport, expressed his satisfaction with Morris’ decision to join the team and use the AMR V8 Vantage platform for his foray into GT motorsport. The team had a successful first day of testing at their local circuit, Snetterton, and is fully committed to supporting Morris in his testing program. Their ultimate goal is to provide him with a solid framework and ample opportunities to thrive in the future.

In addition, Racing Pride has been a proud collaborator of the Aston Martin Formula 1 team since 2021. According to Morris, Racing Pride has been working closely with Aston Martin since 2021, initially with the Formula 1 team and later with Aston Martin Lagonda. Morris expressed immense pride in the strong relationship they have built and the impactful work they have done together. He had the opportunity to visit all of Aston Martin’s production facilities in the UK, interact with various employees, facilitate workshops and training sessions, and contribute to the growth of the IAM inclusion network. This presents a wonderful opportunity for Morris to finally drive one of Aston Martin’s race cars and unite his off-track efforts with his on-track racing.

Reflecting on his first experience behind the wheel of the Aston Martin Vantage GT4, Morris spoke positively about the promising and productive start. He praised the professionalism of the Forsetti team, with whom he had the pleasure of working, and expressed excitement about continuing this journey.

In an official press release, Morris expressed his gratitude not only to Racing Pride, but also to his long-standing partners Vroom Media and GayRealEstate.com, as well as to Forsetti Motorsport, for their unwavering support in this new phase of his career.
