Citroën has announced that it has begun production of the C3 at the Stellantis factory in Kragujevac, Serbia, in order to meet the demand for the brand’s new model.
This increase in production capacity for the C3 in Serbia complements the model’s production in Trnava, Slovakia, and comes as a result of an agreement between Stellantis and the Ministry of Economy of Serbia, which allowed for the modernization of the factory between 2022 and 2024 to accommodate the new Smart Car platform and promote the production of electric models.

The Kragujevac facility employs over a thousand people and boasts a high level of quality and productivity, relying on modern, automated, and robotic production lines.
According to the French brand, since its launch in the last quarter of 2024, the new C3 has already received more than 130,000 orders. Additionally, 30% of C3 sales since its launch have been from the electric version.
By the end of the first quarter of 2025, the new C3 was firmly positioned in third place in the French and Italian markets and held second place in electric vehicle sales in France.

It is worth noting that the fourth and new generation of the Citroën C3 makes history by kicking off the democratization of electric vehicles in Europe. The Gallic utility vehicle, measuring around four meters in length, debuted a 100% electric version, the ë-C3, featuring a 44 kWh battery and a 113 hp electric motor, providing a range of up to 320 km in the WLTP cycle.
The new C3 also offers even more comfort on board with the adoption of Citroën Advanced Comfort suspension, which complements the redesigned Advanced Comfort seats and the C-Zen lounge concept on the dashboard. Embracing SUV design cues, it maintains the compact shapes and agility of the previous version while providing more space and easier access to the cabin.
In addition to the 100% electric version, the C3 is also available in a gasoline version and a 48V hybrid variant.
