Citroën remains committed to making electric mobility accessible to everyone, and after presenting the new generation of the C3, which now includes a unique 100% electric version, it has now unveiled the refreshed C3 Aircross, applying the same recipe, and bringing a radical change to the SUV that will be available with five and seven seats.
The refreshed C3 Aircross features a modern design that integrates elements of Citroën’s new style language, of which the Oli concept was the manifesto and the C3 the first realization.
Thus, the front is strongly verticalized and equipped with Full LED headlights and adopts the characteristic luminous signature composed of 3 luminous segments.
The new generation of the C3 Aircross embraces its SUV typology with a high and horizontal hood, widened fenders and tracks, solid shoulders that benefit from protection that cuts the large wheels, with a diameter of 690 mm.
Although Citroën has not revealed all the dimensions of the C3 Aircross, nor its interior, it has confirmed that the new generation of the model has a length of 4.39 meters, which is 23 cm more than its predecessor.
However, the balanced proportions of its silhouette suggest a very long wheelbase, which allows for more legroom for rear passengers.
Another element made possible by the dimensions of the C3 Aircross and revealed by its style is the design of the rear panel which gives a vertical rear, also allowing for greater habitability for occupants of the third row, as the C3 Aircross offers the possibility of accommodating up to 7 people on board, integrating two foldable seats in the trunk.
The Citroën also did not go into many details about the engines, making it clear that the C3 Aircross shares the Smart Car platform with the new C3, and designed from the beginning to accommodate, in the best way, an electric offering.
Thus, the C3 Aircross will have a traditional thermal offering, which everything points to using the 1.2 PureTech 100 hp engine, as well as a hybrid variant and a 100% electric version that everything points to making use of the same 44 kWh battery and the 113 hp motor of the e-C3.
Citroën has announced that the presentation and launch of the revamped C3 Aircross is scheduled for the summer, when we will learn more details and prices of the seven-seater SUV.
