Chrysler has halted the development of a mid-size electric crossover that was expected to hit the market this year, featuring a design inspired by the Airflow concept, first revealed in 2022.
According to “Motor Authority,” the pause in the model’s development was communicated to suppliers by Stellantis, reportedly via email earlier this month.
The model was being developed based on Stellantis’ STLA Large platform and was slated for production alongside the Chrysler Pacifica minivan and the Dodge Charger n at the factory in Windsor, Ontario, USA.
A spokesperson for Chrysler confirmed to the same publication that CEO Christine Feuell has put the program on hold while the brand “assesses the market and the needs and desires of its customers”.
The same source also indicated that Chrysler is preparing to launch an updated Pacifica in 2026, which will be followed by a crossover and a third model inspired by the Halcyon concept presented last year.
