The burning question gripping the world of NASCAR currently: Is Christopher Bell the unstoppable force that he seems to be, or is he the right pick for the 2025 Pennzoil 400 in Las Vegas? With a winning streak that is nothing short of miraculous, the Joe Gibbs Racing driver has been reigning supreme, poised for a fourth consecutive win. A feat that was last accomplished by Jimmie Johnson in 2007, Bell’s performance has been truly been a sight to behold.

The No. 20 Toyota driver is undeniably a favourite in the field. After all, he has been victorious in the same number of races in just four races as he was in the entire year of 2024. This level of dominance is rarely seen and it certainly makes one wonder, is there anyone who can halt his relentless march to victory?

With the Pennzoil 400 on the horizon, all eyes are on the Oklahoman, who enters the race with high expectations. However, the question remains, does he deserve the odds in his favour? Or should the spotlight shift to his rival, Kyle Larson, who is known as ‘The Diamond in the Desert’?

The anticipation is nearly palpable as NASCAR returns to Las Vegas, promising a spectacle filled with action, drama, and controversy at the 1.5-mile tri-oval. Christopher Bell’s winning streak, encompassing victories at Atlanta, Circuit of The Americas, and Phoenix, has only fueled his desire to win. The odds seem to favour the Oklahoman as he enters Sin City, standing at +400, as per DraftKings Sportsbook, a figure that he shares with Kyle Larson.

However, the statistics paint a rather mixed picture. Despite finishing 33rd at the Pennzoil 400 last year, Bell managed a second-place finish at the South Point 400 in Las Vegas during the playoffs. While he boasts of three top-five and five top-ten results on the track, he has an average finish of just 17.4 in 10 appearances. In contrast, Kyle Larson might be the safer bet.

Larson, the Hendrick Motorsports driver, also holds odds of +400 for the 2025 Pennzoil 400. This is a track he knows like the back of his hand. Larson clinched a win here last year and has an average finish of 9.4 in 17 appearances at the 1.5-mile oval. With two wins in the last three races at LVMS, no other driver has a better recent record at Las Vegas Motor Speedway than the No. 5 Chevy racer. His current winless streak in 2025 only seems to indicate that he is overdue for a trip to the winner’s circle.

While Bell’s momentum is strong, his past struggles at the Las Vegas venue may prove to be his downfall. On the other hand, Larson’s familiarity with and past successes at the track may tilt the odds in his favour.

The rivalry between Larson and Bell has been a thrilling one to witness. Their battles on dirt tracks have led to many close victories. Despite their fierce competition, they share mutual respect. Their last face-off at the 2025 Atlanta race, where Bell managed to emerge victorious, is a testament to this.

The upcoming race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway is expected to be another chapter in their rivalry. Bell, who became the first driver in the Next-Gen era to secure three wins in a row, a record previously held by Larson in 2021, is anticipated to be at the front, leading the race.

However, Larson’s impressive record at 1.5-mile tracks, where he has led 13 of the last 14 races and won eight, is hard to ignore. Following his third-place finishes at Atlanta and Phoenix, he will be looking to prove a point and potentially put an end to Bell’s winning streak. So, who will come out on top in Las Vegas? The anticipation is high, and fans are waiting with bated breath to see how the race unfolds.
