Christian Horner’s Shocking Text to Martin Brundle After Verstappen’s Italian GP Victory!

In a stunning twist following Red Bull Racing’s triumphant return to the winner’s circle, Martin Brundle, the former F1 driver turned Sky Sports analyst, disclosed an unexpected message from Christian Horner, the recently ousted team principal. Horner, who had been at the helm for an impressive 20 years, was abruptly replaced by Laurent Mekies on July 9, amid a series of high-profile exits and a dismal performance slump—a situation exacerbated by McLaren’s overwhelming dominance in the 2025 season. The official reasons for Horner’s dismissal remain shrouded in mystery.

Max Verstappen’s exhilarating victory at the Italian Grand Prix marked a significant milestone for Red Bull, being their first win since Horner’s departure. During the Sky Sports F1 broadcast, Brundle revealed Horner’s message: “This was our worst race last year. We had the wrong downforce level,” showcasing the team’s relentless effort to rectify past mistakes. “They’ve turned it around,” he added, encapsulating the hard work and determination of the Red Bull team.

Verstappen, who secured pole position, showcased his driving prowess, leaving the McLaren duo of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri trailing in second and third place. The young Dutch driver commented on the race, stating, “Yeah, it was a great day for us. Of course, that one was a bit unlucky but then after that, we were flying. The car was really enjoyable. I could manage the pace quite well.” He emphasized the crucial timing of their pit stop and the strategic advantage of using hard tires towards the end of the race, which allowed him to push harder.

“Just a fantastic execution by everyone, by the whole team,” Verstappen declared. “I think the whole weekend we were on it, and it’s super enjoyable to win here.” With confidence radiating from the driver, he noted the importance of settling into the race’s rhythm amidst fierce competition, quickly reclaiming the lead.

As the F1 world now gears up for the exciting Azerbaijan Grand Prix at the Baku City Circuit from September 19-21, the questions loom: How will Red Bull maintain this momentum? And what’s next for Christian Horner in the ever-evolving world of Formula 1? One thing is certain—this season is shaping up to be one for the history books! Stay tuned for more electrifying updates as the saga unfolds!
