Christian Horner elogia espírito competitivo e determinação de Max Verstappen.

Max Verstappen emerged victorious in the Spanish Grand Prix, securing his seventh win of the 2024 season. The Red Bull driver’s success has been a standout highlight of the current campaign. However, as the season has progressed, rival teams have caught up to the Milton Keynes-based team. This has resulted in Red Bull losing some races in the first half of the season, which Verstappen vehemently disapproved of. His refusal to accept defeat has been praised by his team boss, who believes it sets him apart from his competitors.

Verstappen has accumulated a total of 61 race wins throughout his Formula 1 career. His most recent victory in Spain was achieved after a fierce battle with another driver until the end. This win has sparked discussions behind the scenes about Verstappen’s unwavering determination to always come out on top, even if it means settling for nothing less than first place.

Christian Horner, the 50-year-old team boss, emphasized that Verstappen’s aversion to defeat is what makes him a true champion. He expressed that drivers of Verstappen’s caliber should disdain the idea of not finishing in first place. Horner also made comparisons to another successful era of a Red Bull driver, highlighting the importance of a winning mentality.

Although Red Bull currently leads both the drivers’ and constructors’ championships, their advantage is not growing as quickly as they would like. Verstappen’s teammate has struggled to keep up with the pace, resulting in missed opportunities to score valuable points for the team.

Despite these concerns, Horner assured that Red Bull is currently doing enough to secure victory in both championships. He acknowledged that the team is aware of the areas where it needs to improve and is actively working on them. Horner emphasized that Red Bull has a deep understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of its car, the RB20, and is fully prepared to face any challenges that arise in its path.

Currently, Red Bull has a 60-point advantage over its closest rival in the constructors’ standings. However, if the issues within the second car are not resolved soon, the team may face significant difficulties in the upcoming races of the ongoing triple crown.
