Christian Horner: Mercedes’ Nightmare Unfolds 60 Seconds Behind Winner

Red Bull Boss Attacks Mercedes: “They are 60 Seconds Behind the Leader. And We Are Not Fools”

In a shocking turn of events, Red Bull’s team principal, Christian Horner, has launched a scathing attack on rival team Mercedes, claiming they are a staggering 60 seconds behind the race leader. Despite Red Bull’s disappointing performance at their home Grand Prix, Horner did not hold back in his criticism of Toto Wolff’s team.

The Austrian Grand Prix proved to be a nightmare for Red Bull as Max Verstappen failed to score any points after being taken out in a collision and his teammate Yuki Tsunoda finishing dead last. This double zero points finish for Red Bull has put a significant dent in Verstappen’s championship hopes, trailing behind Piastri by 61 points in the driver standings.

Addressing the media, Horner defended Red Bull’s performance, stating, “We still have a strong team. Unfortunately, the performance we hoped for did not materialize. We are at the end of this regulatory cycle, but we are still fundamentally the same group that designed the car that won all races except one just 18 months ago. We haven’t suddenly become fools.”

When questioned about Verstappen and the ongoing rumors linking him to Mercedes, Horner was quick to dismiss any speculations, saying, “They have their own issues, today I believe they finished 60 seconds behind the winner. We focus on ourselves. We know Max’s situation and what is in his contract. For the rest, it’s just rumors spread by the other side.”

As the rivalry between Red Bull and Mercedes heats up on and off the track, Horner’s bold statements have added fuel to the fire, setting the stage for an intense battle in the upcoming races. Stay tuned as the drama unfolds in the world of Formula 1.
