Winter has been “hot” in Formula 1. After the surprise announcement of Lewis Hamilton joining Ferrari in 2025, it was Christian Horner who made the headlines, with his position as team principal of Red Bull at serious risk due to alleged ‘inappropriate behavior’. And there is already speculation about who could succeed him.

According to Motorsport-Magazin, the British man has ‘lost support’ within the company and could be replaced by Jonathan Wheatley – the current sporting director – on an interim basis. Horner’s future will depend on the results of the independent investigation that has already been initiated.

The newspaper Bild writes that the alleged misconduct in question may have been the sending of inappropriate images to a female employee, but the Associated Press emphasizes that it all relates to Horner’s aggressive management style. It is all just theories and rumors, just like the thesis that the manager has been advised to resign voluntarily.

Horner has been with Red Bull as team principal since the beginning of the project in 2005, having already been involved in the conquest of seven driver titles and six constructor titles. If he leaves, it could also determine the fate of technical director Adrian Newey, as journalist Joe Saward states that their contracts stipulate that if one leaves, the other can also leave.
