The Ferrari F1 Drama Unveiled: Horner Contacted for Post-Binotto Position, Vasseur’s Trust Until ’26

In a shocking revelation by journalist Joe Saward, it has been exposed that the English manager, Christian Horner, was approached for the post currently held by Mattia Binotto at Ferrari. The Formula 1 world was left stunned as reports surfaced regarding Ferrari’s attempts to lure Horner to Maranello, with the Red Bull team principal initially not denying interests from other teams but ultimately pledging his loyalty to his current team. However, Saward’s bombshell disclosure shed light on a past encounter between Horner and Ferrari’s president John Elkann, where Elkann had made a proposition for Horner to join the Scuderia, to which Horner politely declined, causing the deal to fall through.

While the speculations around Horner joining Ferrari have now settled, it has been unveiled that the Italian team has chosen Frederic Vasseur to lead the team post-Binotto. Saward expressed his skepticism about Horner changing his mind if approached again by Ferrari, likening the role of Ferrari team principal to “jumping into a fire with a fireproof wallet.”

Regarding Vasseur’s future at Ferrari, doubts have started to emerge as Elkann is reportedly keeping a close eye on the team’s performance until the introduction of the car in 2026. Despite rumors swirling around potential replacements for Vasseur, including Horner, Andreas Seidl, and Antonello Coletta, Vasseur seems to have Elkann’s backing for now, as Autosprint commented, “Vasseur’s position seems shaky? Who knows. Nothing is leaking from Maranello, perhaps because there’s nothing to leak. Fred Vasseur continues on his path, enjoying the trust of President John Elkann.”

The Formula 1 world is left on the edge of their seats as the Ferrari drama continues to unfold, with uncertainties surrounding key leadership positions and the team’s future performance.
