Christian Horner descreve o evento de sprint do Grande Prêmio da China como um ‘teste’ para a Red Bull.

The Chinese Formula 1 Grand Prix is back after a five-year hiatus, featuring a sprint format with only one practice session. Red Bull, which had a remarkable season in 2023, has maintained its dominance this year with three wins in the first four races. They are expected to continue dominating for the rest of the season, although their RB20 car may face some challenges in the upcoming sprint weekend, as acknowledged by the team boss.

The return of the Chinese Grand Prix after five years is due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the country’s lockdown policies. This will be the first time the new ground effect Formula 1 cars will race on the Chinese circuit. The team boss mentioned that the circuit is “good,” but also noted that the first turn seems endless, causing more degradation on the front left tire compared to the other tires.

Furthermore, the team boss highlighted that the Chinese Grand Prix is the first sprint weekend of the 2024 season, making the entire weekend a challenge for Red Bull. All teams will have only one practice session throughout the weekend. The team is eager to secure as many points as possible, making the Shanghai race exciting for both fans and the team.

Ferrari has been closely following Red Bull’s strong performance, securing second place in the championship. They have minimized errors in the last four races and may pose a real threat to Red Bull’s world championship aspirations this year. Christian Horner, team boss, expects Ferrari to offer strong competition for the top of the podium at the Chinese circuit.

Horner remembered the competitive pace of Ferrari in the Australian GP and acknowledged their good performance in previous races. He anticipates a fierce competition between Ferrari and the highly dominant Red Bulls in the Chinese GP.

The battle between Red Bull and Ferrari for the top spot will certainly provide exciting action in the races. The improved pace of McLaren also adds to the excitement, potentially causing surprises in the qualifying order for the Chinese GP. The new sprint weekend format will definitely ramp up the excitement for the fans.
