Red Bull Boss Christian Horner Shuts Down Ferrari F1 Rumors
Speculation has been swirling around Christian Horner, the team principal of Red Bull, being linked to a potential move to Ferrari in Formula 1. Reports suggest that Ferrari’s chairman, John Elkann, has shown interest in Horner due to his success in leading Red Bull to multiple championships with drivers like Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen. Despite the rumors of Elkann trying to poach him, Horner has made it clear that his loyalty lies with Red Bull.
Having been with Red Bull since its establishment in 2005, Horner recently extended his contract until 2030, solidifying his commitment to the team. During the Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona, when asked about the Ferrari rumors, Horner firmly stated, “Look, of course, it’s always flattering to be associated with other teams, but my commitment 100% is with Red Bull. It always has been and certainly will be for the long term.”
Horner dismissed any possibility of leaving Red Bull for Ferrari, emphasizing that the team knows where his priorities lie. He humorously added, “My Italian is worse than Flavio [Briatore’s] English. So, how on earth would that work?”
While Ferrari made changes by appointing Fred Vasseur as the team boss for the 2023 season, bringing them to second place in the constructors’ championship last year, the team currently sits in fourth place. The addition of seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton to partner with Charles Leclerc demonstrates Ferrari’s ambition to reclaim the top spot in F1 with the upcoming technical regulations in 2026.
The F1 world continues to buzz with rumors and speculations, but for now, Christian Horner remains dedicated to leading Red Bull to further success on the track.
