Christian Horner recently unveiled his plans for Sergio Perez’s future during a meeting held at the Red Bull factory. Despite a strong performance in Qualifying, Perez faced another setback at the Belgian GP. Starting the race from the front row, he was overtaken by several drivers, including his teammate who had started from 11th. Speculation arose that this could potentially be Perez’s last race, but team principal Horner swiftly dismissed these allegations.

Horner and Red Bull motorsport advisor met on Monday to discuss Perez’s form and other matters. Horner confirmed that Sergio Perez will continue as a driver for Red Bull, putting an end to the rumors suggesting otherwise. There had been much speculation about Perez leaving the team after the first half of the season, but the 50-year-old principal affirmed that this is not true. Perez will remain an integral part of the team and will continue racing after the summer break.

Furthermore, Horner expressed his anticipation for Perez’s performance on tracks where he has previously excelled once the summer break concludes. The team has full confidence in Perez’s abilities and expects him to achieve strong results in the upcoming races. Horner emphasized their belief in Perez’s potential to deliver impressive performances in future races.

During a recent interview, Horner was asked about the timeframe Red Bull would give Perez to improve his performance. He stressed that Perez is well aware of the team’s need for both cars to perform well. The Mexican driver fully understands the team’s expectations and the significance of both drivers delivering strong results.

Horner highlighted the importance of Perez delivering strong performances alongside his teammate to showcase his capabilities. At the start of the year, both drivers were performing admirably, placing the team in a formidable position. The team aims to regain that level of performance to remain competitive and achieve their season goals. Consistent point-scoring contributions from both drivers are crucial for the team’s success.

Undoubtedly, Horner acknowledged that the team has made mistakes in recent races and emphasized the need to get back on track after the summer break. The races following the break will likely play a significant role in deciding Perez’s future at Red Bull. It is imperative for Perez to perform well and accumulate points for the team. Currently, Formula 1 is on a break as the summer season commences, but the team is determined to bounce back once the break concludes.
