Christian Horner, the team principal of Red Bull, has expressed his support for Perez amid rumors of his potential replacement. Perez extended his contract with the team this year but has struggled to deliver strong performances since then.

Perez joined the Milton-Keynes outfit at the beginning of 2021 and had some important performances during the season. However, his inconsistent form has been a recurring issue for the team since the previous year.

Christian Horner, on the other hand, has voiced his belief in Perez’s future with the team after the Belgian Grand Prix. Despite starting the race in second place at Spa-Francorchamps on Sunday, the 34-year-old once again failed to take advantage of a promising opportunity.

Horner has consistently supported Sergio Perez through his challenging times in Formula One. The team will now discuss the future of the 34-year-old driver during the ongoing summer break before the Dutch Grand Prix.

After a competitive 44-lap race, Red Bull driver Max Verstappen finished fourth at the Belgian Grand Prix. Verstappen started the race from 11th place due to a grid penalty for using a fifth engine.

Verstappen stated that a one pit stop strategy would not have been feasible for the team on Sunday. He struggled with grip and tire degradation throughout the race at Spa but was satisfied with his efforts in the end.

Considering everything that has happened at Red Bull in the first half of the 2024 season, it will be interesting to see how they handle the situation with Perez. As it currently stands, it is not possible for Verstappen to win the Constructors Championship on his own.
