The future of Max Verstappen with Red Bull, where he is currently under contract until 2028, is uncertain given the recent situation. Christian Horner, along with key figures from Red Bull Racing such as Helmut Marko and Jos Verstappen, has started discussions to address the internal turmoil within the Formula 1 champions. This follows an accusation of misconduct against Horner by a Red Bull employee, which was later proven false after an external investigation. The employee has been suspended by the team and is appealing the decision, also involving the FIA ethics committee. This controversy has exposed underlying tensions within the team, highlighting a power struggle involving Horner, Jos Verstappen, and Marko. Jos Verstappen made a strong prediction about the team’s future if Horner remains, while Max Verstappen hinted at a possible exit if Marko is ousted, with Mercedes being a potential destination. Amid all this, there is an effort to find common ground before the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne, emphasizing the importance of not allowing off-track politics to affect their performance. According to The Mirror, there is currently a temporary “public truce” between the parties involved, with Horner receiving support from the Austrian Red Bull board and majority owner Chalerm Yoodivhya from Thailand, indicating a united front at the Bahrain Grand Prix. The impact of this situation on Max Verstappen’s future with Red Bull, where he is contracted until 2028, remains uncertain. However, Verstappen has expressed strong support for Marko, highlighting his crucial role in decision-making and the team’s success. Despite facing personal challenges, including the public disclosure of private messages, Horner has requested privacy and intends to focus on the upcoming races. His wife, Geri Halliwell, has been by his side during the early season races, despite these controversies. Horner’s presence at Albert Park demonstrates Red Bull’s determination to continue their winning streak, showing resilience in the face of adversity and their commitment to achieving their competitive goals.
