Chris Buescher’s Heart-Wrenching Miss Costs Victory at Michigan, RFK Racing’s Strong Comeback

NASCAR Cup Series driver Ross Chastain (1) battles Chris Buescher (17) during the Cracker Barrel 400 at Nashville Superspeedway in Lebanon, Tenn., Sunday, June 1, 2025.

RFK Racing Shakes Up the NASCAR Scene with Stellar Performance at Michigan Speedway

In a thrilling turn of events at the Michigan International Speedway, RFK Racing drivers have sent shockwaves through the NASCAR community with their outstanding performance, flipping the script after a challenging start to the season.

Denny Hamlin stole the spotlight by securing a fuel mileage victory, inching closer to Kevin Harvick’s impressive all-time wins record. With just three more wins needed to match Harvick, Hamlin’s determination and pace on the track are positioning him as a formidable contender for the top spot.

While Hamlin basked in the glory of his win, it was the RFK Racing team that stole the show, with all three of their race cars finishing within the top 10 positions. Chris Buescher, who finished as the runner-up, expressed his frustration at missing out on a potential victory, highlighting a crucial moment in the race that cost him the win.

Reflecting on the race, Buescher shared, “I’d love to have it back, but that’s not the option. Lot of speed, fantastic race for us, big solid day, but just feels like a missed opportunity.”

Teammate Ryan Preece also shone with another top 10 finish, exuding confidence in the team’s ability to consistently score points and position themselves for success on race weekends. Preece’s positive outlook and determination to secure a win in upcoming races are setting the stage for an exciting showdown on the track.

The race also witnessed rising stars like Ty Gibbs and Bubba Wallace making their mark, with both drivers showcasing impressive performances that have put them back in contention for a playoff spot. Despite facing challenges on the track, Gibbs and Wallace remain optimistic about their chances of clinching victories and solidifying their spots in the playoffs.

As the NASCAR season unfolds, all eyes are on RFK Racing and its talented drivers as they continue to defy expectations and shake up the competition with their remarkable skills and unwavering determination.
