Chris Buescher Shines Bright: RFK Racing’s Resurgence at Michigan Ignites Playoff Hopes

NASCAR Cup Series driver Chris Buescher drives during practice for the Cracker Barrel 400 at Nashville Superspeedway in Lebanon, Tenn., Saturday, May 31, 2025.

RFK Racing Shines Bright at Michigan International Speedway

In a stunning turn of events at Michigan International Speedway, RFK Racing stole the spotlight with an impressive performance that should not go unnoticed. While Denny Hamlin basked in the glory of his victory celebration, it was Chris Buescher and his No. 17 RFK Racing Ford team that captured the hearts of fans with a remarkable second-place finish – marking his best showing of the season.

The Michigan race also witnessed a historic moment for RFK Racing as all three of their Ford Mustangs secured top-10 finishes, a rare feat that showcases the team’s undeniable talent and determination. As the final 11 regular-season races loom, RFK Racing’s stellar performance couldn’t have come at a better time, providing them with a much-needed momentum boost as they aim to solidify their spot in the 16-driver Playoff grid.

Reflecting on his near-victory, Buescher expressed gratitude towards his team for their hard work and dedication, acknowledging the missed opportunities that could have led to a triumphant win. Despite falling short of first place, Buescher remains optimistic about the team’s future, drawing strength from their exceptional speed and performance throughout the race weekend.

Not to be outdone, Buescher’s teammate Ryan Preece secured a ninth-place finish, adding to RFK Racing’s impressive track record in recent races. Owner-driver Brad Keselowski also delivered a commendable performance, finishing in 10th place and highlighting the team’s collective effort in pushing boundaries and exceeding expectations.

Although setbacks like pit road penalties tested their resilience, RFK Racing’s drivers showcased unwavering determination and skill, proving that they are a force to be reckoned with in the NASCAR circuit. With Buescher currently sitting 14th in the Playoff standings and Preece tied for 16th, the team is well-positioned to make a strong Playoff push in the coming races.

As the season progresses, all eyes will be on Keselowski, who sits 32nd in the rankings and faces an uphill battle to secure a Playoff spot. With his sights set on victory, Keselowski remains undeterred, knowing that a single win could change the course of his season and reignite his championship aspirations.

RFK Racing’s stellar showing at Michigan International Speedway serves as a testament to their unwavering resolve and competitive spirit, setting the stage for an exhilarating showdown in the races to come. As the team continues to defy expectations and push the limits of performance, one thing is certain – RFK Racing is a force to be reckoned with on the NASCAR circuit.
