Still unknown to the general public in Europe, the Dongfeng business consortium is one of the top five automobile manufacturers in China. And with a well-defined strategy for the European market as well. Namely, through its new brand Nammi, exclusive for affordable electric vehicles.
One of Nammi’s most potential models is called 01, a compact model to compete in the highly competitive B segment, at very competitive prices.
With a length of 4030 mm, the Nammi 01 is 25 mm shorter than the Peugeot E-208, being taller (1570 mm) and wider (1810 m) than the utility vehicle from the lion brand. It has a five-door body, with five seats and can be equipped with 16 or 17-inch wheels and disc brakes on all four wheels.
The range includes two versions, always using a 95 hp (70 kW) electric motor, combined with a lithium-ion battery, which can have a capacity of 31.45 kWh or 42.3 kWh, for maximum ranges of 330 and 430 km, respectively. Later on, a version with a 163 hp (120 kW) engine will be added to the catalog.
The Nammi 01 does not have a confirmed launch date for the Old Continent, but it is available in China from € 10,000. In the European market, the brand announces prices starting at € 18,990 euros, for a version with good equipment: as standard, a 400V charger (200 km charges in just eight minutes), a 12.25-inch touchscreen multimedia system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth and USB connection, navigation, air conditioning, cruise control, and all the standard driving assistance systems in the category.
