China inaugura centro de testes de segurança único no mundo

Recently, the CMVR – China Merchants Testing Vehicle Technology Research Institute was inaugurated in China, the first testing center for safety technology and ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems). The facilities cover an area equivalent to 5000 m2 and were developed with the aim of simulating variable traffic and weather conditions for the development and validation testing of driving assistance systems.

Changan was the first client to benefit from the modern facilities, where it is possible to simulate, for example, torrential rain, dense fog, low lighting, and winds of up to 130 km/h, providing particularly demanding conditions that simulate scenarios that cars and their technology may have to face in everyday life. The first model to undergo these tests for calibration and approval was the 100% electric sedan Nevo A06.

In the new state-of-the-art facilities, it is even possible to take vehicles to a test speed of 130 km/h, more than is usual in the sector, in other types of simulations where the maximum possible speed is typically 100 km/h. It is also possible to recreate different traffic situations, such as the unexpected appearance of pedestrians near blind spots. Different levels of brightness can also be simulated, imitating conditions of dawn, dusk, and cloudy days. All for the sake of maximum safety.
