According to official data released by the CAAM (China Association of Automobile Manufacturers), approximately 666,000 cars were exported from Chinese territory in the past month of October (the third consecutive month in which more than 600,000 units were exported), an increase of 2.1% compared to September 2025, and an increase of 22.9% compared to October 2024. NEV models (powered by new energies, i.e., battery electric and plug-in hybrids) are among the main contributors to the growth of Chinese car exports, totaling around 256,000 units in October, an increase of 15.4% compared to September, and an increase of 99.9% compared to October 2024. In other words, in just one year, the export of Chinese NEV cars has doubled.
Considering the accumulated values for the first ten months of the year, NEVs are already responsible for 2.014 million units exported, which also represents almost double compared to the previous year: a growth of 90.4% compared to the period from January to October 2024. In contrast, and as expected, the export of purely combustion vehicles has been declining: -4.8% compared to September, -1% compared to October 2024, and -5.1% in the comparison of the first ten months of 2025 and 2024.
