Last year’s December was a tough month for Mopar and GM fans. They had to say goodbye to the sixth-generation Chevrolet Camaro and the L-bodied Dodge Charger and Challenger. The Chevy Camaro doesn’t have a planned successor yet, and it might be a while before we see one. Dodge hasn’t confirmed if the Challenger is gone for good, but we do know that a new Charger is on its way. It will join the S650 seventh-generation Ford Mustang in EV and Hurricane-powered form, bringing back the traditional two-door fastback coupe body style.

On the other hand, Blue Oval fans have something to celebrate. The Ford Mustang has regained its position as the leader in the sports car segment in America in 2023. It is dominating the market with its EcoBoost and Coyote V8-powered GT and Dark Horse versions. The new Charger will be released later this year, giving the Ford Mustang some competition.

Chevrolet’s only option now is the C8 Corvette, available in Stingray, Z06, and E-Ray variations. However, that doesn’t mean the older C7 or the S550 Mustang can’t have some fun together. A videographer from the Wheels YouTube channel captured an intense race at various raceways. The race featured a yellow C7 Chevy Corvette Z06, a black Ford Mustang GT, and a nimble Toyota 86. The Z06 driver was determined and left the Mustang GT in the dust, resulting in a time difference of 11.71 seconds vs. 14.34 seconds.

The Corvette didn’t stop there. It went on to embarrass the Toyota 86, leaving its driver watching from the start line. The V8-powered sports car finished the race in 11.38 seconds, while the Toyota 86 took 19.34 seconds. It’s no surprise that a Toyota 86 would struggle against a Corvette with 650 horsepower under the hood. Some people just don’t know when to give up, and this race was a clear example of that.
