Ayrton Senna, considered one of the greatest Formula 1 drivers of all time, is being honored by McLaren with a special livery for the Monaco Grand Prix. The livery, created in collaboration with Senna Global and McLaren’s partner, OKX, pays tribute to the Brazilian driver on the 30th anniversary of his death. Inspired by Senna’s iconic helmet colors, the vibrant livery features shades of yellow, green, and blue. Senna, who achieved 35 of his 41 victories with McLaren and secured three championship titles, is remembered for his remarkable racing legacy.
In addition to the Senna livery, McLaren will also unveil special kits for the Monaco Grand Prix, deviating from their traditional orange and black “papaya” color combination. This is not the first time McLaren has chosen a unique livery for the prestigious race. In 2021, they brought back the iconic blue and orange colors of their former partner Gulf Oil, with driver Lando Norris finishing on the podium.
Oscar Piastri, who finished fourth in the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix, remains optimistic about the upcoming races. Despite a grid penalty for obstructing Kevin Magnussen during qualifying in Imola, the Australian driver delivered an impressive performance. McLaren has stood out this season, with Norris and Piastri consistently delivering strong performances. Together, they have achieved four podium finishes, including a win at the Miami Grand Prix race.
As the Monaco Grand Prix approaches, McLaren aims to turn their excellent form into another victory. The presence of the new Senna livery at the iconic Monte Carlo Circuit adds a special touch to their aspirations.
