Confira: Kyle Larson colide com Ross Chastin em um momento de prorrogação louco em Nashville

Ross Chastain came incredibly close to winning the race before the accident.

The NASCAR Cup Series race in Nashville was full of drama, with five record-breaking overtime attempts at the end. A two-time champion redeemed himself from a poor streak and secured the race victory, solidifying his place in the 2024 playoffs. However, the winner of the previous race had a heartbreaking experience.

During the overtime, the No: 1 Trackhouse Racing Chevy driver found himself in contention for the win, battling alongside other drivers. Unfortunately, on the restart, Ross Chastain, who was on the outside lane, made contact with Kyle Larson, who was pushing Denny Hamlin forward. This caused Chastain’s car to lose control and crash into the outside wall, collecting several cars in the process. Fortunately, Chastain did not suffer any injuries. The No: 5 HMS Chevy finished 8th, while the No: 1 Chevy had to settle for 33rd place due to the accident.

It wasn’t just Chastain who had a tough race. Larson also got involved in an on-track incident while battling for the win with Denny Hamlin. Larson stated that the collision with Chastain was accidental and expressed his disappointment.

Larson also discussed his battle with Hamlin, emphasizing that the maneuver he made was just a racing move to win. He was trying to move up and avoid the dirty air problem, but unfortunately, it only made things worse.

While Larson and Hamlin have already secured their spots in the playoffs with three wins each, Chastain is relying on points to make it into the final 16. He has not yet won a race this season, and the race in Nashville was another missed opportunity for him. It will be interesting to see how the rest of the 2024 season unfolds for him.
