Bowman Gray Stadium roared back to life with NASCAR’s return, and Chase Elliott made sure it was a homecoming to remember. The 2020 Cup Series champion delivered a masterclass performance, leading a record-breaking 171 laps en route to victory in The Clash. But while the on-track domination was impressive, it was his epic post-race burnout that sent social media into a frenzy.

The Hendrick Motorsports superstar set the track ablaze with a spectacular drift celebration, lighting up the tarmac and carving through the infield grass in one of the most jaw-dropping burnouts in recent memory.

“They said he used the wall, but it looked like a perfect drift to me.”

🔥 Burnout of the Year? NASCAR Fans Think So

After securing the checkered flag, Elliott wasted no time putting on a show for the fans at The Madhouse. Instead of the usual static, smoke-filled burnout, he turned it into a full-blown drifting showcase, sliding his No. 9 Chevrolet with precision that looked straight out of a Formula Drift highlight reel.

💬 Fans React to Elliott’s Insane Celebration:
✔️ “Burnout of the year, hands down.”
✔️ “Elliott just drifted a Cup car better than some guys do in the Xfinity Series.”
✔️ “That was a 10/10, up there with Kyle Larson’s burnouts.”
✔️ “If NASCAR ever adds a ‘Best Burnout’ award, this one wins.”

Elliott, known for his humble demeanor, was clearly soaking in the moment. After the race, he took to the mic to reflect on the battle with Ryan Blaney and Denny Hamlin, two of his fiercest challengers throughout the 200-lap event.

🗣️ “Had a tough race. Ryan kept me honest there at the end. Denny was really good in the second half… I hope it was a good show for you. I think they deserve this event.”

🏁 Elliott’s Bowman Gray Dominance – A Preview of What’s to Come in 2025?

The Clash may be a non-points exhibition race, but Elliott’s performance sends a loud and clear message to the rest of the field heading into the 2025 NASCAR Cup season: He’s coming for the championship.

🏆 A Look at His Dominant Stats from The Clash:
✅ Led 171 of 200 laps – Most in Clash history
✅ Held off Ryan Blaney & Denny Hamlin – Two of the toughest short-track racers
✅ Perfect execution in lap traffic – A masterclass in patience and precision
✅ Spectacular post-race celebration – Cementing his status as a fan-favorite

Elliott’s past experience racing at Bowman Gray undoubtedly played a role in his success, even though he downplayed its impact beforehand. He now takes this momentum into the regular season, aiming to capitalize on his early dominance and reclaim championship glory.

Can Chase Elliott carry this momentum all the way to the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series title? Fans and analysts are already asking the question.

👀 What’s Next? All Eyes on Daytona

With The Clash now in the books, all focus shifts to the Daytona 500 on February 16.

🔜 Key Storylines to Watch:
🏁 Can Elliott back up his Clash dominance with a strong Daytona performance?
🏁 Will Blaney or Hamlin seek revenge after falling short at Bowman Gray?
🏁 Can Jimmie Johnson, Helio Castroneves, or other underdogs secure a Daytona 500 spot?

One thing is certain—if Chase Elliott keeps driving (and celebrating) like this, 2025 could be his year.
