Chase Elliott discute sua antipatia pela noite da vitória histórica de William Byron em Martinsville para a HMS.

Chase Elliott praises William Byron for his remarkable victory at Martinsville. Byron and Elliott, in particular, delivered an exceptional performance in the Next-Gen era on Sunday at Martinsville. Byron emerged as the winner in overtime, surpassing his teammates Kyle Larson and Chase Elliott. This was his third victory in the 2024 season and the 11th win since the introduction of 7th generation cars.

The day held significant meaning for HMS as it marked the 40th anniversary of their victory at Martinsville in 1984. This victory was HMS’s first Cup win and played a crucial role in saving the team from shutting down. However, a notable absence in the HMS garage was their boss. The 2020 Cup champion expressed his disappointment at not seeing his boss and wife present to celebrate the victory.

Chevy’s No:9 driver emphasized the unfortunate absence of his boss and wife during the celebration. Despite having a group of 1500 Hendrick Group employees and their families cheering for them, the absence of his boss was disheartening. However, Elliott and his teammates can take pride in their impressive race performance, which undoubtedly made their Hall of Fame owner proud.

Gordon, Vice President of Hendrick Motorsports and a four-time champion with the team, brought to light the reasons behind William Byron’s impressive performance in the last three seasons. He highlighted the driver’s hunger for victory, his talent, and the strong No:24 team he is a part of, making him a formidable force.

Although Gordon and HMS are pleased with the race result, they now need to focus on drivers Chase Elliott and Alex Bowman. Both drivers have yet to secure a victory since 2022. However, considering their recent improvements, they are on the verge of a win if HMS can meet their requirements.
