Chase Briscoe expressed his disappointment despite finishing 10th on Sunday. The Stewart Haas Racing’s lead driver had high hopes for a strong comeback in the Martinsville race. The Ford team’s dominance on the track gave him an extra boost. Breaking a streak of three races without finishing in the top 10 at the iconic short track, he crossed the finish line in 10th place. However, Briscoe was not satisfied with the result, especially considering the news that he and his wife are expecting twins. He classified it as the worst 10th place of his career, citing a bad pit stop and difficulty in overtaking on the track as the reasons for his dissatisfaction.

Briscoe, who drives the Ford Mustang Dark Horse No. 14, had valid reasons to be frustrated. Stewart Haas Racing had some of the fastest cars of the day at Martinsville. Briscoe had the opportunity to gain enough momentum to put the No. 14 team in contention for a future win. However, he has not won a single race since the regular season race in Phoenix in 2022.

The Ford driver emphasized that his car had enough speed to compete with the HMS drivers for a spot among the top 3. He attributed his poor result to the lack of passing opportunities on the track. Briscoe also acknowledged that execution was a major issue for the team during the race.

Looking ahead to the race at Texas Motor Speedway next weekend, Briscoe, a former Xfinity Series champion, will be aiming for a spot in the top 5 or a win. Texas has been a productive track for him in the Cup Series over the years, which should boost his confidence.
