Chase Briscoe: The NASCAR Star Who Believes He Can Take it All!

As the NASCAR season barrels into playoff territory, Chase Briscoe of Joe Gibbs Racing is igniting a firestorm of excitement with a bold declaration: he believes he has a genuine shot at capturing the championship title! For the first time in his racing career, Briscoe is not just a hopeful contender; he’s a confident driver who thinks he can seize the crown.

Briscoe has made waves since joining Joe Gibbs Racing and taking the wheel of the iconic No. 19 Toyota. The 2025 NASCAR Cup Series kicked off with a bang for him, as he stormed through the Daytona 500 with an impressive pole position and a strong fourth-place finish. Consistency has been the name of the game for Briscoe throughout the season, boasting an average finish of 13.32 across 25 races, which includes a staggering 10 top-five finishes and 12 top-ten placements. His prowess behind the wheel has also seen him lead a total of 313 laps—a testament to his competitive spirit and skill.

In a pivotal moment this June, Briscoe snagged his first victory of the year at Pocono, where he edged out teammate Denny Hamlin, effectively solidifying his place in the playoffs and marking himself as a serious championship contender. Speaking candidly to journalist Peter Stratta, Briscoe reflected on his evolving mindset: “I was telling my wife that a couple of weeks ago, this is really the first time I’ve ever legitimately thought I could win a Cup championship. In the past, I can make the playoffs and it’s exciting. But down deep, you kind of know that the odds of you winning are pretty slim, right? Where now, not to say that I’m in favor by any means, but I feel like I have a legitimate chance to go do it.”

This season is different for Briscoe, and he can feel it. He candidly admitted that during his previous tenure at SHR, he never truly believed he had a fighting chance. Now, armed with newfound confidence and a competitive car, he’s ready to take on the challenge. “This playoffs definitely just feels different because of that,” he added, signaling a transformation in his racing mentality.

Briscoe’s exceptional qualifying speed has also been hard to ignore. With six poles under his belt, he’s made history by becoming the first driver to clinch poles at the Daytona 500, Coca-Cola 600, and Brickyard 400 in a single season! These stellar performances have consistently translated into remarkable race outcomes, leading to memorable stage victories and a significant points haul. Despite facing setbacks, including three DNFs (Did Not Finish), Briscoe’s competitive drive has kept him in the thick of the title chase, having completed over 93% of laps this season.

But the thrill of NASCAR isn’t Briscoe’s only passion. He has a deep-rooted love for dirt racing and dreams of launching his own team in either the World of Outlaws or High Limit Sprint Car Series. On social media, he passionately expressed, “WOULD ABSOLUTELY LOVE TO. Literally my dream. Just have to find the sponsorship for it or find a team that would be willing to allow me to be a part of theirs.” His connection to dirt racing runs deep; he began racing 410 sprint cars at just 13 years old, famously becoming the youngest winner in that category and breaking a record previously held by Jeff Gordon.

Chase Briscoe’s journey is a thrilling narrative of ambition, resilience, and the relentless pursuit of greatness. As he gears up for the playoffs, the racing world is buzzing with anticipation—will this be the year he finally claims the championship? One thing is for certain: Chase Briscoe is ready to make his mark!
