In a heart-stopping qualifying session at the 2025 Formula 1 Hungarian Grand Prix, Charles Leclerc from Ferrari snatched the pole position from McLaren’s Oscar Piastri with a last-minute flying lap, leaving fans on the edge of their seats.

The Hungaroring witnessed a fierce battle as Piastri initially secured the provisional pole, only to be overtaken by Leclerc in a nail-biting finish. The McLaren driver had to settle for second place, setting the stage for an electrifying race in Hungary.

The top positions were hotly contested, with Lando Norris securing the third spot ahead of George Russell on the second row. The third row featured the Aston Martins of Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll, adding to the excitement of the upcoming race.

Surprisingly, Max Verstappen found himself down in eighth place, while Gabriel Bortoleto claimed the seventh position. The Racing Bulls of Liam Lawson and Isack Hadjar completed the top 10, setting the stage for a thrilling race day.

Throughout the qualifying sessions, McLaren had shown dominance, with Piastri leading the way in FP3. However, it was Leclerc’s exceptional performance that stole the show and secured him the coveted pole position.

As dark clouds loomed over the track in Budapest, the qualifying sessions were filled with suspense. Drivers navigated challenging conditions, with the threat of heavy showers adding to the intensity of the competition.

Notable names faced challenges during qualifying, with Yuki Tsunoda experiencing another Q1 exit, while Lewis Hamilton and Andrea Kimi Antonelli were eliminated in Q2. The session saw unexpected outcomes and intense battles for grid positions, setting the stage for a thrilling race day.

In a dramatic turn of events, Leclerc’s late lap secured him the pole position, edging out his competitors and setting the stage for an adrenaline-fueled race in Hungary. The stage is set for an epic showdown as the drivers prepare to battle it out on the iconic Hungaroring circuit.
