Charles Leclerc updated his relationship with Carlos Sainz after a tense incident at the Spanish Grand Prix. The two drivers were involved in an intense wheel-to-wheel race, with Sainz aggressively overtaking Leclerc and causing damage to the latter’s front wing. After the race, they had a conversation about the incident.

When asked if the incident affected their relationship, Leclerc stated that Sainz did not fulfill the previous agreement. However, the 26-year-old driver clarified that they had the opportunity to discuss and resolve the issue while traveling together on the same plane. Despite appearances, Leclerc emphasized that they have a lasting friendship and respect for each other.

Leclerc acknowledged that in the heat of the moment, both drivers were disappointed with each other. However, they had a productive conversation and are not concerned about the future of their relationship. It is common for tensions to arise between teammates in Formula 1, but it is crucial to address and overcome them. Leclerc assured that he and Sainz handled the situation calmly.

Reflecting on past experiences, Leclerc acknowledged that similar incidents have occurred between teammates due to the competitive nature of racing. He emphasized the importance of in-person discussions to deal with these situations. Leclerc and Sainz have consistently managed these circumstances well, engaging in calm and respectful conversations to resolve any issues.

Leclerc acknowledged that heated situations can arise during races, as all grid drivers are seeking victory. However, he stressed the importance of resolving these moments afterwards to preserve professional relationships. Fans eagerly await to see Leclerc and Sainz in action again, especially with little time left before Sainz’s departure from Scuderia.
