Charles Leclerc shares thrilling first impressions of Ferrari SF-26 after electrifying shakedown

Charles Leclerc Rides High: First Impressions of the Ferrari SF-26 After Thrilling Shakedown!

In an electrifying start to the new racing season, Charles Leclerc has spilled the beans on his initial thoughts about the highly anticipated Ferrari SF-26 following its shakedown at the iconic Fiorano circuit on January 23rd. With the roar of engines and the cheers of Tifosi echoing in the air, the Monegasque ace expressed a mix of optimism and caution, revealing that while there were no significant issues, making any definitive judgments at this early stage is a challenge.

Leclerc, who took to the track alongside fellow driver Lewis Hamilton, was visibly excited about the unveiling of the SF-26. “I’m definitely looking forward to this day every year,” he declared, underscoring the significance of the moment. The shakedown, however, had its hurdles, as Leclerc noted the less-than-ideal conditions: “The conditions weren’t that great either. There’s a lot of fog, a little bit of a wet track as well, so it’s not the best conditions to test a car for the first time.”

Despite these challenges, the driver was relieved to report that everything appeared to be functioning smoothly. “The main target is to check that everything is working properly and that there are no big problems,” he stated, reflecting on the day’s objective. “That was the case today, so that is a positive.”

The atmosphere was electric, with passionate fans lining the track, amplifying the excitement that comes with the dawn of a new season. Leclerc acknowledged this unique ambiance, saying, “It’s been a very exciting moment, especially because being in Fiorano there’s a lot of Tifosi all around the track, and that adds to that very special feeling.”

As the drivers prepared for further action ahead of private testing in Barcelona, the stakes have never been higher. Ferrari’s recent performance in the 2025 constructors’ championship—finishing a disappointing fourth with 398 points—has set the stage for a fierce comeback in 2026. The team is determined to reclaim its status among the elite in Formula 1, and all eyes are on the SF-26 to see if it can deliver the goods.

With anticipation mounting and the new machine hitting the track, fans and critics alike are eager to see if this will be the year Ferrari returns to glory. Will Leclerc and Hamilton lead the charge to the top, or will they find themselves battling against the odds once again? The countdown to the season’s first race has begun, and the roar of the Ferrari engines is about to echo across the racetracks once more!
